It's not clear to me exactly what result you want from this.
If you have defined a value list with ENTRY1, ENTRY2, ENTRY3 as values in a value list, then, if you formatted your field storing the values:
ENTRY1¶ENTRY2¶ENTRY3 as a check box set with this value list, you'd see a set of three checkoxes with the checkboxes selected.
But that may not be what you want here.
Right now it seems like I have just simple text inside a field.
What I need, is a way to separate different "words" (entry1, entry2, and so on) and make them recognizable by filemaker as separate multiple choices...
is acting like simple text, so the values that appear in my checkboxes are
while I'd like them to be, simply
I hope it's understandable now :) — the version I'm using is in italian, so I'm not 100% sure about the terms I'm translating..
Ok, from looking at your Italian post...
It seems like the data is saved into one column/field grouped together, which makes a little more sense.
(If I am guessing correctly, It might require some scripting to separate them out into different records but the same field.)
Still not entirely sure what is going on.
would appear to be the same thing unless you want to separate the values into different records.
Someone suggested the exact operation on the Italian board, and it worked linke a charm!
Here's the script to substitute "," with character n.13
(it's in Italian, though, perhaps someone can convert it):
CercaeSost(testo;[ " ,";carattere(13)];[", ";carattere(13)];[",";carattere(13)])
