Need help with a summer school database
Hi, I created a database for my summer school. It keeps track of basic information (i.e. names, addresses, etc.) and it does other things for me like calculate tuition and track payments. Every summer, I start with a brand new database.My question is (to save on data entry since we have repeat customers) how can I use existing data like student name, address, parent's information? Ideally, I'd like it to work so that when a new record is created a pop-up would appear and I could select a past student and have the information auto-fill the fields. It doesn't have to be a pop-up. It could be entering a identification number (they have been all assigned unique student id's) and then have the fields auto-populate. The problem is with new students because I know how to have the fields that fill in automatically reference another field in another table that had all the previous student information. Any ideas? I hope this made sense.
My first thought is that each new term of school is added to the existing database, not a fresh empty one. But, you can import you names and addresses back into your database.
