      New and need drastic help with customer database setup

      Hi everyone,

      I am new to FM and have limited database knowledge from use of a poorly designed, antiquated Access database and am under a major time crunch to set up a FM customer database with the goal of  being able to have a record of every customer (wholesale & retail) and all consecutive orders they place.

       

      So if there is a customer that calls in and wants the same thing they ordered 3 months ago or 3 years ago their record can be pulled up and everything they ordered in the past can be seen and the new order added to their record.  And at some point this database would also be used for emailing specials and to create a catalogue mailing list from.

       

      I just am not sure which is the best way to break the needed info into tables or fields for what I need to accomplish.
