Title

Newbie needs help with designing a database with tables

Post

Sorry I can't be more specific in the title!

The idea is this; I have a new specification to teach and want to use FMP to a)hold the information and b) be interrogated by my lesson planner

The Spec is in sections (3.2.1, 3.2.2 etc), split into smaller sections (3.2.1.1, 3.2.1.2 for example). Finally the individual parts are called a/b/c/d etc - rather like a traditional outline.

Currently I am typing this into one big database but this obviously includes repetition. Would it be better to make a series of tables holding the "Big sections", the "smaller sections" and finally the actual content? This would enable the easier sorting of the data (I clicked a header by accident and it is all mixed up now!)

Thanks in advance

Mark
