      Newbie needs help! Numbering reports

      Post

      I'm new to FM and trying desperately to learn as I go. I habe FM Pro 10, working on a Mac OS X (version 10.6.2) and it's not on a server.

      I'm creating a database for an event that has several classes being offered at the same time, multiple times throughout the day. Setting up the fields, etc. has been no problem. What I'm trying to figure out is, when I'm running a report, how do I number the records for that individual report? For example, in Class A at Time A, the report would include Last Name, First Name and total number of registrants.

      Thanks!

          Can't really say without knowing the structure of your database.

          There are three basic ways to count records:

          A get function like get ( FoundCount )

          An aggregate function: Count ( relatedtable::nonblankfield )

          A "count of " summary field.

          Which, if any, of these will work depends on how you've designed your tables and layout.
