Are you opening a copy of the file directly with filemaker 5 or are you using open remote to connect to the hosted copy on the server? If I remember correctly, you have to take the file down off the server and open it directly with filemaker 5 in order to make these changes.
If you have taken the file down off the server and see what you describe, then your password is not the full access password your client thinks it is.
I was opening it directly. How do you take the file down from the server? Move it to another folder or is there a command/button on the server console to do this?
You have to close the file first. We used to stop the filemaker service to do this, but there may be a way to close it without halting the service. Then you can move it to another location or just launch filemaker pro and open it.
