You want to print just one owner & his dog?
Make sure the layout is in form view, not list view.
If you're trying to print all the dogs for one owner, set it to view as list, then you need to make the layout use the DOGS table, not owner.
Then in the header, put the related owner info using fields from the owner table.
Then you can go to the owner record and create a button on the layout that uses the script step go to related record, to pull up the dogs for that owner and enter preview mode and print.
Does this help?
I want one owner and all the dogs they have.
I set it up just as you suggested. The layout is based on the dog info table, then I pull info from the owner table for the header.
It works perfectly on screen. I find myself, my info and my dogs' info shows up, perfect. But when I go to print, I only get the first dog. The second dog info is on screen in Browse, and in Preview but doesn't print.
If I can get it to print, I will try to figure out your script suggestion.
Thanks for replying.
I bet it's because when you do file print and the window comes up, you aren't selecting 'All records'. It is set to 'Print Current Record'.
Switch that and you should be fine. Also make sure the layout is made to view as list.
Let me know.
That was it. I never even noticed that option on the print menu. I set it to records being browsed and the form printed out prefectly.
Thank you! Thank you!
This was driving me mad.
You're welcome! Make sure to check that often as a lot of errors will come from that!
