NULL or ""? Removing data from a field
When removing data from a field in a table, I am currently setting the field to "" (nothing inside of quotes).
Is this the recommended method, or should I use some type of a null command? The purpose is to set the field to "nothing" so I can detect if it contains "nothing" later or if it contains a value. In most cases this is to set a type flag or remove a relationship from a related table.
