You can accomplish this using the MySQL ODBC driver and ensuring that the port MySQL uses for ODBC connections is open and accessible from the machine that you're connecting from. The steps to do this should be extremely similar to the steps you used to connect to your MS SQL server. Specifically, you'll be creating a System DSN, opting to use the MySQL ODBC driver and configuring it with your MySQL database information. From there, you can either import the data through File -> Import Records -> ODBC Data Source or interact with it through a script that calls the Execute SQL script step.

this is MOST inspiring - where can get the mysql OdBc driver ? - I don't see it as an option when I 'add' in system DSN (It appears that ONLY the msSQL driver is installed)
