Use a 1 record Preferences table. You can attach this preference table to your other Table occurrences if need be, with a cartesian join ('X' operator instead of '=').
Looks like I have some research to do on these terms. I'm new to FM.
I'll be back...
Thank you mr_vodka!
Took me a bit to get to it, but that did the trick.
Glad that you got it working.
My question is a little different from the previous question, but my database contains several related tables each with its own layout for hundreds of records. There's a field called "Case ID" which is represented on the other layouts, if I'm working with a particular "Case ID" (e.g 8601) that is represented across different layouts is there a way to stay witin that group of Case ID's when moving from one layout to the next?
I hope I stated this clearly.
If I have six related tables, using the GTRR command will allow me to stay within the same Case ID's (i.e Case ID=8601) when navigating to each of the six tables?
If you have defined relationships linking your tables by Case ID, GTRR can be used to pull up found sets of records with the same Case ID. This should keep you with the same group of records. There are a lot of different options, some risks and a lot of details to GTRR that aren't found in filemaker help or the knowledge base which is why I wrote the post that I referred you to earlier.
