      Open Layout in New Window with data from previous

      Post

           I am trying to create a button that when clicked opens another layout in a new window.  The 2nd layout enters data in to a different table.

           The first layout contains an automatically generated custid field.  When the 2nd layout opens in the new window I want the custid field to populate with the custid from the first layout and not be editable.

           How do I do this?

               If there is a relationship matching by custid between the two tables, Go To Related Records can open the new window with the selected layout with a found set of all records with the same custid as the current record in the first window.

               If there is no relationship, you can still do it if you use a script similar to this:

               Set Variable [$CustID ; value: LayoutTable1::custid //use your names in place of mine ]
               New Window
               Go to layout
               enter find mode[]
               Set Error capture [on]
               Set field [Layouttable2::custID ; $CustID ]
               Perform find[]
