I have isolated the error a bit more. It only occurs when I generate a PDF on a record with an empty container field.
Details: I am using FileMaker 13.02 on Windows and have a database with a container field with nothing fancy in its attributes. This field may or may not be filled with a diagram image (.jpg) for a given record. I have a layout used to print a report using this field and it slides fields up to adjust for the size of the image (if there is one). I generate PDFs from this report's preview.
Result: On records with an image in the container this works fine - the PDF generates and is readable for the whole report. On records with nothing in the container the PDFviewer throws the error above and stops displaying anything from that point in the report on.
Any ideas anyone? Bug?
I suggest posting an Issue Report in Report an Issue for the TS personnel to see and respond to.
OK- Will do - thanks.
I'm running in the same issue. Also with shrinked container fields in the report.
Any news / results / workarounds?
Yeah - its a bug. I reported it but have not heard of a fix yet.
As near as I can figure it is caused on reports with containers. At some point the layout just goes wonky and starts generating bogus PDF files that throw errors when opened. The only fix I have found is to rebuild the report on a brand new layout - you can copy over the header, body and footer and it seems to fix the error. Its just an annoyance when it happens.
Ok, but I did not convert an existing report.
I just created a brand new database with report. But with container fields that need to be there.
For now, I use the workaround to "Print to PDF".
Hope they fix this soon!
