      Perform Find problem

      Post

FM 12. I want to use Perform Find in a script to find a set of records where one field has a specific value and another field contains any value (not empty). I have tried the following:

      Enter Find Mode

      Set Field 1 = 10

      Set Field 2 > 0

      Perform Find

This doesn’t work. When I try to set the criteria for Field 2 with >0, the Specify Calculation dialog box gives the error message: A number, text constant, field name or “(“ is expected here”.

Is there a better way to do this?

What happens if you set the second field to *

When Setting up Set Field, there are two Specify buttons that must be clicked. To get Set Field [Table::Field ; Expression], add set field to your script and click the first button (specify target field). Select Table::Field from the list of fields. Do not click the specify button next to the repetition box. Click OK to close this dialog box. Now click the lower specify button (calculated result) and create the expression to the right of the semicolon (;). Do not try to type in the semicolon.
