Performing a find on 2 fields in the same record

      Post

I am using FileMaker Pro 10 on Mac OSX 10.6.2 Snow Leopard.  I have an 800,000 record data file with fields named f1, f2, f3,...etc.  For each record, I need to check to see if f2 matches f3.  In find mode, you cannot simply say in f2, "=f3".  The system will assume f3 is a literal and not the actual content inside f3.  Filemaker support suggested that I post on the forum or contact a developer who can assist me.  I thought this would be an easy question, maybe I'm wrong.  I am new to FileMaker, but not databases.  I could write a shell script to do the job but prefer to use the power of a database app so I can do other things with the data.  Any help is appreciated. Thanks
