      Personal record keeper solution

      Post

I have been scouring the internet for a pre-packaged software program that will help organize a person's personal information such as:

      1. Banking
      2. Investments
      3. Websites and passwords
      4. Medical records
      5. Real estate records and documents
      6. Employment records
      7. Insurance information
      8. Etc, etc, etc

The idea is to have a central repository for key informaion should you pass away unexpectedly.  Oftentimes only one spouse may know about these things and the surviving loved ones are left with a real dilema.  My personal preference is to have it reside on my PC instead of on-line or in the Cloud.

I found very limted information out there and then it occurred to me that maybe there is a FileMaker solution somewhere.  I can't believe this is an issue that hasn't been developed yet!

Looking forward to thoughts on the subject.  Thanks.

Many years ago I got well sick of trying to find the phone number of that good plumber I'd found 10 years ago, the web-site of the bargain printer inks, my password for the privilege card I rarely use, blah blah.  So, with Filemaker's phenomenally-easy search facilties, I wrote a file to organise it all.  It took me... oh, about 30 seconds.  It has one field in it.  It's called 'Useful Information'.

But like all good ideas, it got developed.  It now has another few fields to let me have half-a-dozen 'Favourites'.  It is laughably easy to use, and has never let me down.  I'm happy to let you have it.

Sorbsbuster, that would be absolutley fantastic.  Can you post a link or would you prefer sending it directly?

I'll post up a link to it later - that would only take a second but I'm in a rush right now and I'd have to type up at least the vaguest of instructions as to how to use it...

              I'll post it tomorrow morning.
