Plugin using QuickTime: choppy playback and 100% CPU (one core) in Win 7, but not in XP nor XP compat. mode

Post

     Hello,

I have this plugin that uses the QuickTime API to play video. It worked fine in Windows XP, but now in Windows 7, the playback is very uneven with pauses of up to a second at times, and the CPU usage is 100% of one core.  When I turn on Windows XP compatibility mode, it works as it does in XP (normal playback and about 30% CPU usage).  Strangely, the standalone Apple QuickTime player works smoothly with no compatibility mode.

Are there differences in how FileMaker operates in Windows XP versus Windows 7 that could be causing this?  Perhaps plugin threads are handled differently, etc.

I would be happy to perform any tests that could narrow down this problem further.  Thank you.
