pop-up menu from a table with filter

      Post

      Hi,

I have a "users" table with a boolean "active" field on it.

On a layout from other table I have put a pop-up menu to show values from the "users" table.

I have created a value list for this purpose, taking the values from the "name" field in the users table. The pop-up work fine.

Now I want the pop-up to show only the "users" that are active.

      How can I make this?

      Thanks.

Can you explain your boolean test?

One thing you could do is, instead of your "active" test returning a Boolean answer, you could have it List the customer name and if it is not active, meaning if your test fails, then list nothing: "".

base your values list on this test field and only the active customer names will appear.

To anyone:  This is the exact problem that I am having...

            A table listing Inspectors.

A field that is Active (Y or N).

I want a pop-up list, or a drop-down list, to display ONLY the Inspectors where active=Y.

rdowler, I read your reply.  But, I can't understand what you're unclear about.  I don't see anything about a "boolean test".  And, I have had no luck finding instruction on how to get this done in FileMaker.

            Any input would be appreciated.
