      Portal Filtering

      Post

           Am I being too ambitious expecting this to work in a Portal Filter Calculation?

           Budgets::Comms_tag = "x" and (Budgets::budget_amount > 0  or Budgets::Spent > 0)

           what's the best way of doing this ?

               The syntax looks correct. is Budgets the exact name shown in "Show Related Records From" in portal Setup?

               Do you want to see all records where Comms_tag has exactly one letter, "x" and either of the other two fields are greater than zero?

               How does it fail for you?

                 thanks Phil, I've found the problem - it was inconsistently updating the Budgets table but realised that VPNing to work filemakerserver so delay is understandable..

                 incidentally, is there a neater way of achieving this in a calc field to establish my Comms_tag value?

                 Let ([ac = Purchases::Account_code];
                 (Case (
                 ac = "6-1200" ; "x" ;
                 ac = "6-4105" ; "x" ;
                 ac = "6-4205" ; "x" ;
                 ac = "6-4215" ; "x" ;
                 ac = "6-4405" ; "x" ;
                 ac = "6-4410" ; "x" ;
                 ac = "6-4420" ; "x" ;
                 ac = "6-4430" ; "x" ;
                 ac = "6-6150" ; "x" ;
                 ac = "6-4105" ; "x" ;
                 ac = "6-5210" ; "x" ;
                 ""
                 )))

                   I don't know that it's any better, but:

                   IF (  PatternCount ( "6-1200 6-4105 6-4205 6-4215 6-44056-4410 6-4420 6-4430 6-6150 6-4105" ; Purchases::Account_code ) ; "x" )

                     Thanks Phil - not much prettier - but easier to edit!
