Title

Portal for checkbook registry

Post

Hi, I'm new to Filemaker so I apologize in advance for my ignorance.

I am trying to put together a basic checkbook with registry. Basically I have one table that holds all the data like check number, date, payee, category, check amount, etc...

I have designed a layout with a picture of a blank check with the input fields in the appropriate places on the check picture. I have the printing working of the check and a registry report. The one last thing I need to do is put a portal just below the check picture that will contain all the checks that have been created with a running total of all checks in the registry. I am not sure what I need to do to accomplish this. I tried making a relationship between the table and itself using the check number, but the portal only displayed the current record on one line of the portal. I know this is probably an easy one for most of you, but I'm having a brain cramp.

Any help and direction would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
