Portal on a form view, of record from same TABLE

I have an INVOICE table and a layout form for creating new Invoices (records). I want to place on this same Invoice a portal that shows in descending chronological order key fields of all the records. It would be like a list view of the Invoices but it is embedded within the Invoice layout window. Is this possible?
      Thanks

Yes.  Go to your relational graph and select your Invoice table occurrence and duplicate it (hit the ++).  Call it SJ_Invoice (meaning self join).  Join any two any field from either side, you can join Invoice::global to SJ_Invoice::date ... it doesn't matter.  The join character you will use will be the Cartesian Product which is the 'X' (the last join option).

Cartesian Product means that all records are related no matter whether they have a value, no matter how they are joined.  It replaces the old habit of creating a 1 to join two tables.

Now on your Invoice layout, add a portal based upon this SJ_Invoice.  Place fields from the SJ_Invoice inside it.  Sort the portal descending by the creation date or creation timestamp.
