Title

Portal rows remain empty after deleting

Post

Hi,

My database for text analysis has several tables (sources, text extracts, codes, high order codes and categories). In the real world, text extracts, codes, high order codes and categories form a heirarchy, in the database world they are all many-to-many relationships. The database works as it should and I can look at a category and see its related high order codes and codes in portals. Satisfaction. Until I change my mind and decide to remove, say, a high order code from one category and add it to another. An empty portal row remains in the first table. This is unsightly, especiall when producing a report in preview mode. I should add that all tables are connected by join tables and creation of records but not deletion of related records is permitted. Here is a screen shot, the arrows show rows which have been deselected from this category.
