Do you want to create new related records via the portal? There is a check box in the relationship details dialog allowing the creation of related records.
I noticed on the copied portal that I did not change the name of the refernce table to the new one. When I did that and click on 'Browse' I cannot see the entry fields.
I decided to create a new portal.
When I click on 'Browse' I see the portal and the labels but I do not see the text boxes.
I clicked on the portal and then : right-click, arrange, send to back.
But still the text boxes are not visible.
In 'Edit Mode' none of the text boxes are touching any part of the portal.
They are contained in the first line.
What can I do to make those text boxes visible?
Jens, I forgot to mention the portal will only hold a date field, a user field, and a notes field.
the notes field will house changes made in the database and the other fields will keep track of who made thechanges.
You copied a portal which still exists and still works? Did you copy only the portal or also the contained fields?
When you changed the new portals relationship did you also change the base table of the fields in the first portal row correctly?
I figured it out.
The relationships were not enabled, such as allow creation of records in this table via this relationship.
An the other option I had to check mark was delete related records in this table when a record is deleted in the other table.
This is found under File, Manage, Database, Relationships, click on the little box between both tables.
Thank you for this thread! Totally just helped me!
