You could use a virtual list technique, or you could click on the field in the inspector and add the tooltip Self. Then when you roll over it, it will show all the data in the field.
If you're looking at it in Preview mode, you could use sliding to make the notes field longer then you need, and it will slide up to shrink the size.
Just click into the field and it will pop out and let you read the whole contents. You can set up a calculation field to show this text if you want the field to be read only on this layout.
Or you can put a popover inside the portal row to click to pop out a larger format view of your data.
And some have even used a tool tip so that you hover over the field and see the data--though that usually requires speed reading to really be able to read all the data.
Thanks everyone, that's what I did just clicking in the field makes it expand and I also have the pop up tool tip. Only issue is on Windows it's really ugly, because when it expands the field by clicking on it, it puts it overtop the fields below it, so it's the row selected being printed over the row below. Doesn't do that on Mac, just expands and shows the field, but it's not an issue as the tool tip is a workaround.
