If "delete portal row" is not enabled, I do not see how what your report is possible.
A record in the portal could be deleted by "delete record" if that option is enabled and you have the focus in the portal row at the time the user clicks the "delete record" button as clicking a button does not change the focus.
What I would do, is use this script to delete the layout's current record via a button click:
The commit will remove the focus from any portal row that might have the focus.
Thanks, Phil. I will add the Commit Records step. I also couldn't see how the related record deletion was possible. I really hope it's not file corruption.
Could this be a case of cascading deletion?
That might be the case. I know that you said:
In both the Sidebar portal option dialog and on the graph, the options to delete related records are turned off
But the tricky part here, is that you may have other relationships with other occurrences where the delete option is enabled. If one of them is a relationship to this same Sidebar table....
Thanks, Rick and Phil. I just double checked all relationships on the graph, and none of the Sidebar TO's have the delete option checked. They also never appear at the end of a chain in the anchor buoy graph so they're pretty easy to keep track of; there's just one Sidebar TO per main layout.
