Prevent back dating of date field validation
How can I validate a field not to backdate so for example someone couldn't enter a data from the previous day or any time prior to the current date?
In field options, you could add this validation calculation:
Self > Get ( CurrentDate )
This allows them to select an invalid date, but then throws and error message. If you don't allow them the option to override the validation error, they will be forced to correct the error.
You can also use OnObjectValidate to check for this via a scrpt--which can give you more user friendly options for handling the error when it occurs.
Can you be more specific?
How is the date originally entered?
Can someone originally enter the wrong date?
If the date entered always coincides with the current day, and shouldn't be changed, then you could consider using the creation date as validation.
My table has a 'Preferred Start Date Field' which is where clinicians would enter a date using a Calendar Drop Down field, I want to ensure a date in the past is never used.
