Title

Printing address labels with conditional fields (skip fields when empty)

Post

Hello,

I have a database with addresses and I would like to print labels using this database. So far I got everything to work except for one thing.

In my database I have a field for first name, one for last name and one for the name of the spouse (if this person is married, otherwise it's empty). I only want to print the spouse field if it's not empty, plus I would like to add a & sign in between first name and spouse. I want it to look like this:

<<FirstName>> & <<Spouse>> <<LastName>>

For example: Jack & Samantha O'Neill

If the field spouse is empty I don't want this field and the & sign to be printed, so like this:

<<Firstname>> <<Lastname>>

For example: Daniel Jackson

Is there any way I can do this in FileMaker Pro?

Thank you for reading my question.

All the best,

Arnoud Roeland
