My best guess is that you actually mean "table" here.

and a container field stores an image of the reciept....
Then you can pull up a found set of LineItems on a list view layout based on LineItems for a given record in Main. Fields from Main can be included on this layout and a container field with an image can be included in this layout in order to print out the receipt images.

I have done what you recommended using a portal, although I can only do one entry per line which is making the printout 10 pages, Is there a way I can make it so I can put the images of the receipts side to side that anyone knows about?
I see no reason why you can "only do one entry per line"...
