I am trying to print a database of records in batches based on alphabetical order. The problem is the field I wish to use as a search/sort means is "last, first name" (together). For example, I want to first print all the A's, starting with "Adams, Joseph" and ending with "Apple, Mary".  Then I want to do another print run by B's, and so on.  subtractions.  This way I don't have to reprint a bunch of pages for my hardcopy when there are additions or subtractions.  The database will not allow me to perform a search Adams, Joseph...Apple, Mary, as I would normally do. Any suggestions? Thanks,

          Define a calculation field: Left ( NameField ; 1 )

You can either find or sort on this field to either find all records whose last name starts with a given letter, or if you sort on this field first then on the name field, you can group your records and use a trailing sub-summary part to force a page break with the start of each "letter group".
