      Printing SubGroups?

      Post

This may be trivial, but I can't seem to figure it out.  I have 2 tables; Help_Topics and Help_Detail joined on Help_Topics::Record_ID = Help_Detail::Topic_ID.  I'm trying to create a report  layout that will print the following:

      Help_Topic Record 1

         Help_Detail Record 1

         Help_Detail Record 2

         Help_Detail Record n

      Help_Topic Record 2

         Help_Detail Record n+1

         Help_Detail Record n+2

         Help_Detail Record .....

      I have it printing:

      Help_Topic Record 1

         Help_Detail Record 1

      Help_Topic Record 2

         Help_Detail Record n+1

I can't get all of the Help_Detail records for each Help_Topic to print.

Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I will guess that you are running the report from a layout based on the Help Topic Table.  You need to run the report based on a layout from the Help Detail table.

Set up a report in that table, with a sub-summary by Help Topic ID.  Show the Body part below it.  Sort by Help Topic ID, and you should have what you want.

          or

You have a leading sub-summary part with the Help Topic Field in it, and a body pary with the Help Detail Record in it, but the Detail field is actually a pixel into the sub-summary part, so it printing in tandem with the Help Topic.
