Problem opening existing database
I updated FMP from 8.0 to 9.3 and am having trouble opening the database i work with. Other users in my group have no problem like this.
I tried open remote and entering in there the address of the database (which resides on a remote server) but to no avail. The error message says that the database "could not be opened. Either the host is not available, or the file is not available on that host". Then a second error message says "the previous script step, Open File, could not be completed because of an error". The script functions well for other users in my group using same OS (Leopard) though.
I would appreciate any pointers to how to fix this. I don't know much about the works of FMP but have local assistance (so far they are puzzled too).
Did you only update FMP?
Any other changes on your Mac?
Do your other network accesses work?
If you setup your user on another computer, does it work?
The database is opened and hosted by FMP or FM Server?
Can you ping the server with success?
Any other network changes?
Why upgrade your machine and not others?
Do you do monthly maintenance, such as AppleJack?
