You didn't give any information on the problem. Error message ? Why is it not doing ? Version of FM ? What Platform (Windows/Mac) ?
FMP12 only classic theme works with iwp, so if the layout you are going is not classic theme, then there would be your problem.
I'm using FileMaker Pro 12 on Mac. And no error msg. Everything runs without error. I know must use classic theme.
So, for IWP, can it work in scripts switching layouts within same window, from Subscription to Customer and back to Subscription? Or must use new (virtual) Window to do that? i am rewriting to test that now... Any advise will be appreciated.
Still not much information on what it is not doing. The following guide mentions that you may have to issue a commit records/request to update the user browser.
Here is a link to the iwp guide.
I've read the guide but it doesn't help. What info you need?
Let me try to explain again. I'm trying to use FM IWP to allow user to self subscribe or un-subscribe to the mailing list. So, first user enter the Subscription layout. Once they enter their email and click Submit, the script will first go to Customer layout to check if this email exist already or not. With this info, it goes back to Subscription layout and respond or act accordingly. In fact, it could do something at Customer layout then - either to check or uncheck the Subscribe status field in Customer table if the need arise.
So, i now ask does FM IWP works in scripts switching layouts within same window, from Subscription to Customer and back to Subscription? OR must use new (virtual) Window to do that?
Hope this is clear enough?
I meant you didn't give any information about your script. Some script steps are limited. Go to Layout is supported in iwp. It could be part of your script is not support.
here is another link that might help
It's not so much about the scripts commands since i could view them under Show Compatibility. Past that stage already.
Also, i didn't think there's a need to show scripts here since we are talking about design concept or approach for IWP development. So fundamentally i couldn't believe it cannot be resolved sooner.
Anyway, I managed to resolve it after my strong suspicion on need to use new (virtual) window to move to another layout is correct. The problem was the placement of my close (virtual) window command. It has to be placed at the right spot - close it too early, the subsequent scripts may still need it to work under Customer layout; close it late, the subsequent scripts may need to work in Subscription layout without knowing it's still in Customer layout.
Thanks for your attempt to help though. ; )
