Problem with printing from two related tables

      Post

I have developed a database for my wife's window treatement business. I am experiencing a problem when printing.

      Here's the scenario:

I have a table called Rooms and two related tables, Soft Items and Hard Items. Basically Soft and Hard Items are both related back to Rooms via Room ID (Room:Room ID --> Soft Items:Room ID and Room:Room ID --> Hard Items:Room ID).

I am unable to get more than one item from Soft Items or Hard Items to print on a report. I have the following summaries in the layout:

      Job ID
      Room ID
      (Soft) Item ID
      (Hard) Item ID

I am sorting the layout by these fields before printing. However, when I print I am only getting the first item from Soft Items or Hard Items.

          Hi "BigMike",

It sounds like you need to display all the related records on your report layout.

          Simple solution...

In your report layout, go to FMP menu "View -> View as List"!!!

This should get your list of related records to now show up properly.

FYI - You can set the 'list view' to be the default view...

In "Layout" Mode, go to FMP menu "Layouts -> Layout Setup..."; choose "Views"; and 'deselect' Form View & Table View.  List View should be the only selected view.

I hope this helps... Good Luck!!!
