The URL you need to use would be your Internet IP address (the one given to you by your ISP) rather than your LAN's IP address(the one you are using to see from your home). You will also need to set up port forwarding (which is usually quite simple) on your router unless your computer is connecting directly to the internet. This means that if you are using IWP on the default port (80) you will need to tell your router to carry any requests to that port to the the LAN IP of your computer.
So Basically what happens is when you type your internet IP address the request arrives to your router which then forwards that request to your computer and you are able to access IWP from outside of your LAN. Hope this helps
If that doesn't work, you may want to consider using a professional FileMaker hosting provider, such as ourselves:
In addition to being available anywhere on the internet, we host all databases on FileMaker Server Advanced, which is a much more robust solution than using FileMaker Pro client. We also provide the server licenses, hardware, upgrades, monitoring, etc. all as part of our package prices.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions either here or off-list to jmay(at)pointinspace.com. Thanks!
