I suggest examining the layout where you are using table view while in layout mode. Check boxes are a format specified for a field while in layout mode. Thus, you'll need to add the field to your layout and specify the check boxes formatting before you can be sure to see that format when you switch back to browse mode/table view.
Thanks, not sure what it was but something in your reply made me try something.
All the checkboxes in the form view were in the header part of the layout. I copy and pasted a couple of them into the body of the layout then saved and exited layout and they were back to checkbox style in the table view.
I didn't know that if my checkboxes were in the header they would not show as checkboxes in the table view?
Wait, is there a way to tell FM to show my checkboxes in the header as checkboxes in the table view?
I've just released that the header stays put when you're on the list view too.
Maybe I shouldn't have designed by layout with fields ... in the header?
Frankly, I wouldn't use a table view for this. I much prefer the results I get with List View instead. It's more work to set up and you lose a couple of options for dynamically changing the view, but the result can be much more user friendly and much less likely to generate customer support calls wanting to know how to "fix" the view after a user accidentally alters the view and can't figure out how to restore it...
But the header is NOT visible in Table View unless you open up Layout Set up and specify that the header be visible.
