It can be done in many ways, depend what you want to achieve.
A simple one is:
Create a script in which you update your notes db (as you like)
Use this script as trigger for the layout you use for the event “onrecordCommit”
So any time someone modifies a record, the script is executed.
Thanks for your help. One last question, is there a way of capturing which field was amended? or is it just a general 'record amend'?
Identifying the field or fields modified would require a trigger on each editable field using something like the OnObjectSave trigger.
You can know the field using the trigger on each filed with the events onObjectModify or OnObjectSave.
passing to the script a parameter with what you like to know who was the object (field) that activate the trigger
I suspect that you can also use Get(ActiveFieldName) to identify the name of the field being updated.
