      Title

      Relationship not working

      Post

      I have two table, Jobcard and CostAnalysis.

      I want to have a record created in CostAnalysis whwnever I create a recordin Jobcard.

      I checked Allow creation on this table... on CostAnalysis side of the relationship on which

      Jobcard.jobcard_id=CostAnalysis.jobcard_id. However, it's not working in browse mode.

      It only create a record in Jobcard but no record in CostAnalysis.

      Can anybody help me solve this? Thanks.

          Thank you for your post.

          The relationship "allows" you to create a new record in the related table.  It will not do this for you automatically.  If a portal is showing on your layout, this allows you to add a record to the portal via the relationship.

          Instead, when your record is created, include the script steps:

          Set Variable [ $id ; Jobcard::jobcard_id ]

          Go to Layout [ <layout based on CostAnalysis table> ]

          New Record/Request

          Set Field [ CostAnalysis::jobcard_id ; $id ]

          Go to Layout [ <layout based on Jobcard table> ]

          Let me know if you need clarification for any of the above steps.

               If you have allow creation of record on, all you have to do is type ( or set a value ) into a field in CostAnalysis.
