Design a Forum on Computer B using what software? The ultimate goal is to allow what users to access or create what information? The information will be viewed only by those users or administrators to achieve what goals? The 3 networks to be connected are subnets on a large private network?
Just to make u clear, i want evey thing made in filemaker. that database the layouts everything. The users will create new records. Like entering a new clients data. also they will have the ability to request data to make Reports and all that stuff.
The network. I will needed it 2 work on different networks. My Local LAN network. and WAN, which spins around the country.
Filemaker get share databases. (It is not like a forum). The remote user connects to the databases using filemaker. You can host the databases with filemaker, filemaker server, or with a hosting service. Google Filemaker hosting for a list of companies and prices for this service.
See the following link:
You can also use iwp.
In a filemaker shared database, I cannot Creat/Edit record while i am not connected to Filemaker server right?
if yes, So is there way that Filemaker stores record in local database and uploads once it is able to connect to shared Database automaticaly ?
You will not be able to open the file at all if you are not connected. You'd have to set up some kind of "synch" system. If your data model and the way you need to work with this data is fairly simple, you may be able to create your own system for the synch.
There are also third party products offered by 360Works and SeedCode that will manage the Synch for you.
i saw the 360Works mirrorsync. that is exactly what i need. But 650$ is pricey for me at the moment. Any alternatives?
