You can create the object in a different program, such as a graphic design program then cut and paste to your layout in Filemaker. Just right click to setup as button after it has been pasted to the layout.
Any FMP created image, placed image, placed text, field, merge text, on a layout can be set as a button - linked to a script.
If a grouped object is set as a button, ungrouping removes the button setup.
Thank you SC and DA! One problem still unresolved as I did not think to include in my initial question. I traced a thumb outline on a copy of the body image in Adobe Fireworks. Then cut it and pasted it into the layout of FM12, and resized it so that it exactly matches the thumb image in the FM Layout. Then converted to a Button - no problems. However, I want the pasted image to have a color and have that color change depending on the script run when the Button is used. Unfortunately any color applied to the pasted new Object/Button is applied to the area outside the "thumb trace" , but inside the rectangular boundaries of the Object. It is the color and transparency of the thumb trace itself that I would like to change. A "Grab" image is attached. Here is the example:
the area that I would like to change color when this Button is clicked and script run, is the faint thumb trace seen here, which would otherwise be tranparent so that the underlying body image is visible untill the Button is clicked. Here, it is the area outside the thumb trace that is changing color.
P.S. as you know this does not occur with a graphic object drawn in FM12
Any thoughts? - Again thank you very much.
Your image didn't post.
Should be there this time - thanks
