I'd like to know if there's a way to programmatically (through scripts) save a search. In order to create a report with a number of calculations, I would like for the user to be able to perform a searchbut perform some other tangentially related searches and loops before displaying the results.
I have not seen any way to do this but it seems like it should be something a GET function should be able to perform.
NOTE: I know I can open the Save Search dialogue but this is too limited and cumbersome for my purposes.
One method is to perform the find in one (possibly hidden) window and then do your "tangentally related searches" in a different window. It's also possible to use two layouts in the same window if you use two layouts based on two different Tutorial: What are Table Occurrences? of the same data source window.
