Script to close and open FMP
Is it possible to wright a script to automatically close a FMP file and then after a several hours, open the same file?
You can use your Operating system's scheduler to fire a FM file that has a script that runs on opening. The file would open, run the script, then close itself down. Could be used to either open or close files. Or do anything, really.
Where would I find the Operating system's scheduler?
Which Operating system will you use?
In Windows XP, it's called "Scheduled Tasks" and you can find it in control panels. With other OS types/versions, the name and location will vary.
We are using Mac OS Server 10.6.6
I don't have an OS X system myself, but other posters have mentioned something called Chronos or Cronos.... that is supposed to do the same thing on the Mac side fo the fence.
Assuming the computer is running, iCal can open files.
Automator has more capabilities.
Cron and Crontab are the Unix low level utilities.
