      Script Trigger with Record Commit

      Post

On a layout I have two scripts.

      1. ChangeLog Comment: this is a script that opens a dialog box that asks for a comment if a record has been changed. It is set as a script trigger on the layout based on record commit.

      2. FH11: this script finds records with certain criteria. It also has a step "Insert Text." I'm assuming FM wants to commit the record when this text is inserted so I'm getitng this ChangeLog Comment script dialog box when this script is run.

Is there any way to use the insert text script step but not initiate the ChangeLog Comment script?

Simplest way to disable a layout based script trigger is to use a global variable.

Take the changeLog script and modify it like this:

          If [ Not $$TriggersOff ]

            #put your script here

          End IF

          In your FH11 script use:

          Set Variable [$$TriggersOff ; Value: True ]

at the start of your script to disable the ChangeLog script

          Then use:

          Set variable [$$TriggersOff ; Value: False ]

To re-enable it near the end of your FH11 script.
