I have set up a script to go to a layout and then print it enter print mode before going to the layout
      The sequence is
      enter browse mode
      go to layout [dform]
      print [specify]

the script goes to the print dialogue box before it goes to the layout

this used to work in a different file in FMPro 7

Well, print it, and it will go to the layout. What its doing is giving you the chance to make any changes. What I don't like is that with OSX, even trying to use the Print Setup script step, I have to re-specify the printer I wish to use if its not going to be the default system printer. I have to do so each time, which can be maddening. I don't know of a way neither with FileMaker nor with Applescript to change the printer on case by case basis, though Automator 'almost' offered a solution.

What version and what platform is this?
            Try adding this step:
               Refresh Window
After the Go to Layout step.
