SEARCH For a Character That Can Be found in Various Contexts Within a Field
I am a new Filemaker user. I am now working with a large database which I converted from Bento.
My database contains a "Code" field, which contains various Roman characters, each of which carries a certain meaning in reference to the record it is part of.
Two such code characters (among others) are X and Y
I wish to do a search for all records that contains X, whether it exists by itself in a Code field, or whether it can be found in combination with other characters, for example XY, YX, X, , etc.
I wish to learn whether I can accomplish the above with a single find request, or if it's necessary to perform a new find request for each possible way that X might be contained in the Code fields. It seems unlikely to me that I'd really have to use the latter (brute force) method.
Could there be an operator that is used for this particular purpose?
