    Search results in Table view

      Search results in Table view

I have created a table view to try and allow me to pass along upcoming information quickly. What I want to do is show a month at a glance in table view that can be emailed as a .pdf to all the people involved. Each day of the month is it's own record. I'm wondering how I can restrict the search to only show me say March, instead of all 1107 records? Am I better off to try and build this in List View?

      I'm using FMP 10.

      Suggestions welcome.

For list or table view the following technique is the same.

If you use United States date formats MM/DD/YYYY

Simply enter find mode and enter Month/Year as your criteria. 2/2010 would find all records in the month of February, 2010 for example.

If you don't use the above format, you can set up a "month" calculation that returns the first day of the month date for all dates of the same month:

cMonth : YourDateField - Day ( YourDateField ) + 1  /* set this to return "Date" as the return type */

You can then perform a find on this field to find all dates from the same month and year.
