Sending a hexidecimal code to a printer

I'm updating a POS system that was originally done in FM5. The way the cash register worked whenever it was told to print "A" (that was in the control font, an internal font to the printer), it would open the drawer. However, found out that FM11 doesn't support non-True Type fonts.

Contacted the printer company, and I can send it a hexidecimal code that will also trigger the drawer opening. Does anyone know how I can do that? I'm assuming that just sending the textual representation of the hex code won't cut it.

Any help is appreciated.
