Are there any fields set to "slide up/shrink"?
Any sub-summary parts serving as headers or footers for grouped data?
If no to both, you may be able to do this by adding an unstored calculation field to your database plus a global field to store the page offset.
I do set addresses, etc. to slide/shrink, but no sub-summary or other fields. Just a simple name, address, etc. roster. I have a Title Footer and a Footer, but can't get them to be none-1.
I just remembered a simple approach that works.
Define a global number field, gOffset for storing the number of pages you want to offset. If you want your first page to be page 40, store 39 in this field.
Define a calculation field: cPage
gOffset + Get ( Pagenumber )
Place the cPage field in your header part(s)
Note: Get ( PageNumber ) will return zero until you print or preview your layout.
That works for preparing the printed doc. I am also trying to create a PDF file to put with the Word doc. When I put the half sheets 2 up on a page for the PDF, the calculation counts the whole page. I can massage that for the PDF at Kinko's using Adobe Acrobat. Think for the CDs I'll leave out the page numbers after the Title page, and add them by hand. For the printed rendition, I could add that calculation to my individual sheets. Thanks so much!
