Title

SetField on a specific record defined by a variable PKID

Post

I have a global variable ($$DocID) which is the PKID from child table and I want to place this on a specific record on the parent table,.

I've done Set Variable=$ParentID in a script that runs on the parent layout, so this has the correct ID that I want to place $$DocID onto.

I'd imagine needing to use a SetField with a calc of $$DocID, but how do I tell FM to SetField on the parent record of $ParentID?

If I do a Goto Record, FM will ask me to goto a record based on its internal system, not my PKID, so that doesn't work for me.

I need the logic to be something like 'Goto the record which has the PKID of $ParentID, and then Set Field $$DocID'.

Thanks in advance.
