We need to know more.
Is there a relationshiip between the two tables?
With the correct relationship, this can be as simple as adding a field from Table A to the layout for Table B.
Thanks for that. Yes, I have the two fields linked as match fields: I thought that would do the trick. So you think I should just add the field from the first table to the second table? I'll do that.
Not what I had in mind.
If you have the two linked in a relationship, such as:
TableA::Field1 = TableB::Field2
You should be able to just put Field2 on your TableB layout as it would display the same data as Field1 from Table A. This assumes that you have properly linked records in the two tables by these two fields. Also, simply changing layouts from the layout for TableA to a layout for TableB will not guarantee that the related record in TableB (the record with the matching value in Field2) will be the current, visible record.
Let's try dispensing with the table A and table B designations and try this again, but with the actual table and field names along with a description of exactly what you are trying to do. When we take this in such a generalized fashion, there are many different options that appear to fit what you are describing. If you get more specific, I can better recommend something that's a good "fit" for your project.
Yes, that works. Don't know why I couldn't see how to do it. Thanks again.
