SOLVED - Field is defined to require a value but is not available on this layout

      Post

      Get error message :

"Sols code is defined to require a value, but is not available on this layout. Use another layout to assign a value to this field."

Basically was using FM6 with a set of databases i built using fm6.

Upgraded to FM 10 (not advanced) all ok.

      I have 3 sets of databases - solicitors - defendents - invoices

      All have relationships set ok.

All works fine. On solicitors i have sols info address etc.. then i have a portal showing defendents info. Many defendents to each solicitor.

On an existing solicitors i can add a new defendent on the next portal line. This creates a new defendent details in the defendent file etc..

Now when i create a new solicitor  and enter sols details all ok. However when i enter anything in any of the portal fields it throws up the error notice (seeabove).

I have even tried exporting the sols file, opening and recreating the file & relationships but still get the same error.

      Please help anyone.

      regards

      Simon

      LOL - i solved it.

What it was, the field sols code in the defendents file was set to existing value - all ok now
