Can you provide a bit more detail as to how you are using GetlayoutObjectAttribute to specify an image format? What kind of object?
If you are using this function to capture a chart image as a bit map in a container field, does it really matter?
I am using the function to capture a chart image, I then want to send an html email from FMS with the image in the body of the email. It works if I paste a jpg of the chart image into the container field, however if I try send the bit map, the html email doesn't wont send the pic.
I seem to be able to get it to work if I run the script through FMP however if I run the script with FMS it wont send the image unless its a jpg. I want to automate this from the server and not through a windows scheduled task using FMP client. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
FileMaker doesn't support HTML formatted email--only plain text. Are you using a plug in? If so, you might contact the plug in developer to see if they have any suggestions.
It may indeed by the case that you'll need to export field contents to your temporary items folder, then re-insert the file to change the format.
Yes im using 360works email plugin.
The problem is it works with a .jpg file. When I try the bitmap I can't get it to work, so its really not a plugin issue.
Is there no way rename the image field?
Yet the plug in may have options for how you compose the email to get the formatting you want. I don't know if that's the case, but that's why I suggested you check with them.
Renaming the image field will have no effect on it's contents. I don't know of any other way to get the change in data format that you need here.
Ok thank you very much, ill ask them.
However Is GetLayoutObjectAttribute ( "graph" ; "Content" ) compatible with the server? I think that could be the error as I can't paste the image to a container field from FMS using GetLayoutObjectAttribute?
I have tried with a global container or storing the container externally either secure or open?
I don't know if there are compatibility issues with server or not.
What version of server are you using?
FMSA12 installed version 184.108.40.206
There must be issues as I have tried everything and can't get it to work.
works find on FMP
Just making sure your server version supported charting. I have a system here hosted by FMS 10--precharts, but I can use an FMP 11 client to chart the data. Needless to say, I can't test your situation on my set up as any scheduled script "runs as the host" and thus would fail due to the server version not supporting charts.
I recommend making an issue report (see Report an issue tab at top of screen). To save typing you can post a link to this thread. This will bring the issue to the attention of the FileMaker techs and they can tell us if this function (or charting) is something that can be done in a server scheduled script.
I do have fmp installed on my server and I have no problem running the script from FMP I'll try report the issue Thanks for your help
